DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS:

The functions of the Department of Finance and Accounts include:

i.        Taking charge of receipts, disbursements and accounting for Board’s funds in Ministries/departments and the public.

ii.       Reconciling internal or Board’s accounts with the monthly treasury accounts units.

iii.      Assisting in examining revenue collection procedure to ensure compliance.

iv.      Preparation of final accounts and monthly transcripts

v.       Compiling of cash flow forecasts and projections.

vi.      Preparing Periodic/ Annual financial reports of the board and ensuring timely submission of monthly financial statements to the Executive Chairman and the Accountant-General.

vii.     Implementation of the approved accounting systems for the board.

viii.    Advising on the control and management of funds, investments, loans and guarantees of the board.

ix.      Interpreting financial regulations.

 DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES

The department of Administration and Human Resources handle the following functions;

i.        Personnel management

ii.       General Administration

iii.      Supplies

iv.      Budget

v.       Training and staff welfare

DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONS:

i.        Plan, monitor and supervise all waste operations and activities of the Senatorial districts to optimize success.

ii.       Ensure that approved field development programmes are achieved and operational activities conducted safely.

iii.      Process waste work programmes and budget for management approval.

iv.      Oversee Government programmes and ensure that they are in line with the approved budget.

v.       Ensure that the estimated revenue accruable from firms is achieved.

vi.      Compile and review strategy and work programmes as well as assess their viability to enhance decision making.

vii.     Coordinate pollution control and cleanup operation.

DEPARTMENT OF LEGAL SERVICES AND COMPLIANCE:

i.        Responsible for legal services to the Board

ii.       Drafting of contract agreements, tenancy agreement etc.

iii.      Assisting in recovery of debts due to the board

iv.      Arranging Board Meeting, Sub-Committee Meetings of the Board and Management Meetings.

v.       Arrangement of Board Members welfare and accommodation.

vi.      Liaise with external solicitors of the Board.

vii.     Coordinate, monitor as well as supervise the prosecution or defense of all legal matters being handled by external solicitors.

viii.    Liaise with the Boards mobile courts and handle all enforcement and compliance matters.

ix.      He or she shall function as Secretary to the Board.

Chairman who is the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day to day administration of the Board. The Chairman assign to the members responsibility for any business of the Board, including the administration of any of  its departments. The Directors has the responsibility of implementing the decisions of the Board at the departmental level and make recommendations on all administrative matters to the Chairman for approval.
